I am going to try to go to this and I will bring my tools. I will also be willing to help anyone out just as long as its not a big project.

AJ, Are you going to bring your bus? I'm still doing test drives with my bus. I would like to feel confortable with the bus for long distance driving (1 1/2hr drive).

Actually, noon works out GREAT for me b/c my oldest has a piano recital @ 10:00 am (that I had forgotten about--OOPS!!!!). If you all want, bring hotdogs, brats, etc and we'll fire up the grill and have a big lunch, too. Sound like a plan? If you get to my house before noon then that's OK, too. We'll leave the place open and of course there's plenty of room outside. I hope it will be great weather:) I am trying to get a way to get the paraplegic teacher witht he VW out to my place as a surprise. I don't know if we can bring his bug over or just have him come hang out? Any ideas...

Just to make sure, it is the 24th ? If so, I will not be able to make it. However I think my brake issues are solved. My dad and father in laws b-day that day, might try to hop over to al's house later in the day..

Folks...do we have any information on where this will be held yet?
I still have no idea where I would be going.

Yup, that is a good pattern Rudy started. We are trying to carry on the tradition. Each event thread we will do our best to post the details in the first posting so everyone can find it without having to read the whole thread.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make this this year. Family obligations. I hope you all have great weather!

I agree with the pattern. It makes perfect sense when you know where and when a GTG or event is happening.
Didn't happen here. We were all kind of casting around for ideas, dates and times, and the posts went on for a few days before everyone came up with a consensus on when and where were reached.
At that point, I would like to propose that we start a new thread when that happens using the event thread tradition, and have people let everyone know of possible attendance, etc. That would work in the GoodVolks favor...people ask questions if someone says they are going to attend and don't. Several folks asked about Kenn at the Buggy Builders Show when he was home sick. Kind of like everybody watching everybody's back.
I would never think to go back to the first thread in a thread like this, because I had already seen the first thread, and nothing had been decided way back then. Of course I now know what to do, and hopefully we don't have people out there who are as slow as I am, ;D but I do think it would be easier for non-members to visit our GTGs if we started new threads when things had been decided.
Just sayin...
Dave
P.S. I'm going to try to make it, and I plan on bring the case of water I picked up for the Buggy Builders with me.

There are a few advantages to updating the first thread. 1) It is the first place someone new is going to look. 2) It is under the control of the original poster. 3) It becomes the "official" place for accurate info. 4) It keeps from having multiple postings on the same subject, which is super confusing (at least to a dull boy like me).
However, mention of the update needs to happen with a new posting on the original thread. Sometimes this gets a little frustrating for those looking for info sooner than it is available.
Anyway, that is the logic behind the procedure.
Perhaps we should add a statement initially on the original posting that it will be updated as information becomes avail
