What's a running 36 hp engine worth?
I might have a chance to get my hands on one and re-sell it.

Ed, Depends! What engine #, how complete, end play? What's the oil look like? Was it cared for/ maintained(Valves adjusted, air cleaner clean)? How long has it sat? How many miles on it? Is it clean or dirty?

I have one in unknown condition that is fairly complete advertised on TheSamba. I thought one in that shape should be worth $150, but it appears the rest of the world doesn't think so.

I sold two 36ers a few years ago. 1 was complete and running, the other was complete, but, locked up. I had them listed for almost a year before I finally took $150 for both! Buying used engines is like a box of chocolates, you never know what...well you get the idea.
