I'm a Type 3 Volkswagen Nut !...aka : Greg Sanchez
I've been fortunate enough to meet with some of the GoodVolks Members at the Henry Ford Museum / Richter's Chalet February GTG.
What a Great Time. Michigan Volkswagen Clubs, UNITE !
OK, Well here go's ...I'm from the Southeastern Michigan Area, born/ raised near Dearborn, MI. FORD Motor Co. UAW Area. Family, Relatives & Friends worked for the "Big Four" back then, so 60's / 70's Muscle Cars were involved in our lives. But dad always had that reliable VW Beetle or Bus !
I've worked 25 years for the Detroit Plumbers Local Union in the SE MI Area, installing Commercial & Industrial Plumbing and specializing in Medical Gas Systems for Hospitals.
I'm a Collector of many of my past memories by collecting Vintage Schwinn Bicycles, Toys and memorabilia of all kind from that Era.
Being a Car Enthusiast, I enjoy all Classic Vehicles but over the years have become interested in Vintage Volkswagen's.
By attending VW Shows over the years, I would always be drawn to the Type 3 Models. After purchasing a '73 Squareback 8 years ago and enjoying it, I now own a '73 Fastback which has made me an official : typ3nut !
Being involved with the MVVC and the organizing of the Swap Meet at the May VW Festival has helped in finding and meeting others with Type 3 parts for my vehicles.
I like showing my vehicles but you'll always find me at the Swap Meet looking for those "hard to find" 1972-73 Type 3 Parts & accessory goodies.
If anyone has attended the "Woodward Dream Cruise" Volkswagen's at Kerby Koney Island GTG then you've probably met me. A few of us start this GTG 7 years ago and has grown into a Annual VW Event for many, over 90 vehicles last year and growing !
I look forward to more Michigan Vintage Volkswagen GTG 's in 2010 and beyond !
