Its true. My "restored" Ghia seat is terrible. The springs are shot, I'm almost sitting on the floor pan and its lumpy and I lean to the left. The back support is also lumpy with broken wires poking through the vinyl.
I want new seats and I don't care if they're original. In fact I want something in cloth that is very comfortable. I am driving fairly regularly so I need support and comfort.
Anybody have recommendations on what I can get that would fit the existing pan runners?

I have always been a fan of the Scat Procar Rally but I am not sure how well they will fit into a Ghia. www.procarbyscat.com/RallySeats.htm They come with brackets for installation. There are also many seats available from Sewfine interiors. www.sewfineproducts.com/ Also you could redo your seats or find some other stock ghia seats and recover them. I also know of a place in Grand Rapids called skinz a member on MIVE used them to redo his Corrado interior

I feel your pain too. My seats are not that bad but the sagging springs help with my height. Check this I had a complete set of perfect original vinyl black Ghia seats from a 69 that I also threw away. At the time I did not care now I wish I still had them.
What I would like to find is a good set of low back original Ghia seats that I can fix and recover but not sure if they will fit my frame.
Just keep your eyes open for someone parting out a Ghia. Seats can always be recovered and frames can be welded.

I just checked the add. Just like the seats that I threw out same color and everything. One problem they are sitting in Missouri.

I don't know what is worst you being bored looking up Ghia Seats. Or Me actually taking the time to look at the ads you posted. $200 for the rotted Low Backs I think I would rather invest into the seats I have. The ad should say free to good home.

I'm thinking more about comfort than keeping it original. The vynl covers never seem to hold up long, the piping(welting) always pulls out on the side where you hop in and out of the car and the seams separate, so I'm really anti-vynl.
Good ideas though. I'll check some of those links.
