we need to get hot vws and sand sports to come to the bug runs to start getting the word out nationaly about the shows so some one needs to talk to stephanie and to hot vws at the buggy builders show about it

I agree, but, it is not so easy. They have costs involved with sending a person, or crew, to a show, as well as other shows on the same dates etc. They have to choose carefully which shows they cover in person. I was however, surprised to see that the Spring Bug Run was NOT advertised in the coming events section in the latest Hot VW's

Exactly right Patrick.

We do have a connection with Hot VW's through Mike Sommer Managing Editor of Hot VW's. He also happens to run the Lansing Buggy Builders Show. Stephanie (US131 Marketing Director) works with him to promote the Bug Runs through this show.
Also, Lynn Anderson who writes for HVW has been to a Bug Run and written about it. Unfortunately, lately, she has not been out. We need to work on getting her more involved somehow.

I agree we need to do a better job of advertising the Bug Run's in the magazine. I have mentioned it to US131 in the past but have not done a good job of following up. I will look into what is available to us and look into helping US131 take better advantage of this free advertising.

We also need to get the Bug Run's talked up on other forums. I was told by a reliable source that part of the decision making of what shows HVW will attend is based on online talk about the shows. The more talk about a show the more likely HVW will attend.

Yea get Lynn to bring her Thing to the Car Show ;D As for the Mag I'm along time subscriber got issus back to 1976 ;D,I'm excited every month until I see It's the same BS, all Advertisments Cpl.Trailer Queen feature cars mostly from Cal.The car owners must of wrote ;D ;D No normal cars other then the one page that Readers Showcase one little biased Tech artical that 'plugs' the Advet. that never goes into details If it wasn't the only Mag about VW's I'd cancel but it took 5mo. to get to start being delivered Madmike

Lynn Anderson is a friend on Facebook of the club. I try to post everything on there. The Bug Runs are already up so may be, she will come this year.
