I need to thank Clinton too for helping rejet my carbs. Made a huge difference. Was popping a lot before. Pretty much all went away. Very nice of him to search me out and offer to help when I did not really even know that was what it was. Thanks Clinton!
Beautiful day. Wasn't it great to be able to complain about sunshine and heat at a bug run?! Personally I thought it looked to be the best bug run yet. More show cars and more swap/vendors than ever before. Now we just need more racers!
If you could not tell, I had a absolute blast on the track today. I am definitely addicted to drag racing now. Finally, today I started to feel better reacting to the tree. That is except for my second pass when I completely blew the light. Basically just a dumb rookie move. Yea, not going to post that video.
Yes, we need feedback. Please post up your comments both good and bad.
Food for thought: What do you think about the location for swap and show cars? Can you hear and understand the announcer? What could we do to encourage people to not leave before the show car awards are given out? What could we do to encourage everyone to bring their cars in from the parking lot? Just some things to think about.
Thanks everyone for helping make this a great event!

It was a great day! Lots of people walking around, looking, and having fun. I'm not sure how to encourage more people to put their cars on the show field, except to maybe add to promos that all VW's are worth looking at. We like them original, modified, unrestored, restored, and in between. One of the people walking through today is someone I know from Delton. She just got a '95 VW, and didn't know that she could put it in the show, because it wasn't "old". She had never been to a VW show before, and said she was in a daze, it was so wonderful. Walking through the show and the swapmeet I saw lots of smiles. Lots of people just like to look at VW's! Maybe we aren't just showing our cars, we are sharing our cars, and if more people realized that's part of what our show is about...

Wow, what a great time guys. I came out with the MIVE crew and we all had a blast. It was the first time on a drag strip for most of us. Sure, Matt's westy only managed a 25 second quarter (my best was 18.6) but we had a good time doing it.
Congrats on a wonderfull event.

Even Thou I didn't have my car there I still managed to have a great time. I had a blast helping out Bren and Ken. I was wondering how the guy from Chicago (I think that is where he was from) made out that Patrick and Steve were helping out? It was good to see some old faces and meet some new. I had completely forgot that I had met Patrick years back . I am bummed that I didn't bring my camera and get a shot of Madmikes Mad wheelstand

I am bummed that I didn't bring my camera and get a shot of Madmikes Mad wheelstand What? Madmike was there? I don't think I ever saw him. Did he stay on the track the whole time or was he just hiding from me?

I had a blast. Here is my Montage. Dan ;D Thanx, Danno! Great montage (esp. love AJ sitting in his camper - good thing the top pops up! Don't know how that kid gets in his Ghia) but those of us who were actually alive when these cars were new would probably prefer the Beatles, Who or Stones - maybe "Drive My Car".

I didn't notice until about the 3rd viewing, but Herbie's Glove Box Door is actually AUTOGRAPHED by Don Knotts and Dean Jones. How cool is that?
