Just looking for some feedback and advice. I think its time for me to move on and sell my car, but I'm having a hard time coming up with a price. I'm seeing cars that aren't half as nice up for sale for 4-5 thousand. Are these cars selling? I'm not looking to get rich off of it, just looking for an honest price. Heres the car in question thegoodvolks.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=intro&action=display&thread=42P.S. I'm not getting out of the game just looking for a new ride.

My beige car sold for $7500 if that helps you with a comparison. I took in the rail on trade to make the deal. Gave them $1500.
Good to hear you are not getting out of VW's! We enjoy having you around.

You'll probaly NEVER!! get what you have in it or think it's worth. Just set a price and go from there I've sold VW's in all price ranges and some lost money and others made a nice profit on others, more of the second then the first. Send out feelers and go from there. Good Luck!!

NO! Your car is so nice and you have history with it that would be hard to duplicate.
If you do sell it, don't let it go too cheap. It is getting harder and harder to find clean air cooleds. Best thing to do for value would be to watch similar cars on eBay and TheSamba
Just my $.02

I haven't convinced myself quite yet. I think I'm going to sit on through out the winter and see how I feel. Thanks for the advice guys.

Jerry,
Your 67 is an awesome ride, I would hate to see it go and I would make sure what your getting in return weather its a trade or cash is well worth it. No regrets.

Every once in a while I look around a current classic Beetle pricing. NICE beetles have really been going up in price. You still see a lot of cheap ones available, but they are generally in horrible shape. If it helps at all, I was offered 10k for mine about 10 years ago now and turned it down. Now, at the time, that would have been a very good sell for me. I just wasn't ready to sell. But were I to decide to sell mine today, I would probably put "12k Absolutely Firm" on it, and just wait until I got it. My instincts suggest that, seeing the value of these cars going up as it has been, you might just consider keeping it an "investment", and get another car anyway (assuming that is within your budget.)
Have you seen the price of Ghias? Man, they've sky-rocketed. I was seriously looking into getting one about 3 years back, and found that the price on them at more than doubled in just a few years. I think that might be happening to our Beetles now also...
If you do decide it is time to sell, I think you should at least give it a try for a while with a nice high price-tag on it. These are serious "nostalgia" cars. Almost everyone has great memories of how they loved their old Beetle....
