I will not be able to make it. Leanne and I are going to Indiana to go camping with my Grandparents.

If you don't reserve spots early(put a chair out) you may have to walk a fair piece. To enjoy the sights. I'll go with three just to be safe unless I hear other wise. Later Kenn

This will be my Dad and I's first trip to this show. When you say you put chairs out, what are you talking about exactly? Is it not just a huge car show at the fairgrounds you spend hours upon hours walking through? Do they cruise at night? Thanks

Yeah, if and when you go to show? That cost from $15 to $20 bucks to see. What we're(I'm) planning is to go watch the locals hot rods, street machine and classics cruise the motels, eatery's and such looking at, showing off for and being naughty. I'll stake out a spot that over the years has been the best place to watch this going on. After everyone from our group has arrived and eaten, then we may or may not cruise around ourselves. It is generally most fun watching the goings on. Burn-outs, wheelies, flame throwing, street races and just showing off are common sights and you get to watch the Hot Rods cruise back to the Motels from the fairgrounds to boot. I've been doing this since the Nats moved to Kalamazoo from the East side of the State, years ago. Haven't missed one yet except for last years monsoon and one year it snowed. This will be the first year I have missed the show., but I'm NOT missing the cruise. Later Kenn

Thanks for the invite Kenn. It was fun. I have seen the cars around town in years past but never went to see them cruising around. Definately need to keep this on the schedule for next year. It is always fun to hear stories and see peoples reactions to VW's at hot rod or multi car type shows.

Until an in the weeds 52' Chevy deluxe low-rider with thumpy stereo pulls in opens, his trunk full of speakers and plasma TV and plays DVD's way to loud. Some folks thinks it is Cool!! I'm not one of them. The car was BAD!! until he stopped and opened the trunk. Saw a wide array of machinery everything from Pro-Street drag cars to classic Ramblers and a stock restored Gremlin. Gave out all the club cards I had, even one that got wet and torn. Thanks for going with, Bren, John, Steve, Jamie and of course TJ and Addy. I had a Hoot! I also get a kick out of folks walking by Hot Rods and muscle cars to look at VW's and tell their stories from yesterday or "back when". I've had it on my yearly calendar for 20 some years it's always a great time. Kenn
