Ok its me again
On Sunday I spent the time reseting the front suspension ride height and alignment. I have a 2" narrowed beam with weld in adjusters, 2-1/2" dropped spindles and a urethane bushing kit. This time I set up the ride height at 4-1/8" behind the front tires that puts the front beam at 2-3/4" off the ground. The rear ride height is 5-3/4" in front of the rear tires.
When I went on my test drive the car tracked nice but every crack in the pavement was a kidney buster.
Now the question I need to work on the rear and install the urethane bushing kit. Do I lower the rear to match the front or raise the front to match the rear. I really love the lowered look but I really don't like the ride.
I think the hard ride is due to the urethane bushing kit because the front control arm were not moving that freely after the install. I am hoping that they will move more freely after a few 1,000 miles.
Oh-yea one more thing does any one out there have a Ghia with a stock ride height. I would like a stock measurement for bragging rights. Just a quick measurements in the locations that I gave earlier in this thread.

Do your tires rub at all at full turn sitting that low? Thats about the ride height I'm at and I rub my fenders. Don't quote me on this but I believe you can ream the bushings a little, but I'm not for sure. Has anyone else done this? Oh, and the lower the better.

What I did to reduce tire rubbing was to install longer bolts for the stops at the pitman arm. It does make my Ghia turn like a battleship in the parking lot. I guess thats the price I have to pay.

Well I have figured out what I am going to do about the ride height. I am going the wimpy way out. I have desied to raise the front to match the rear. The reason for this is that Michigan roads are not perfectly smooth I have seen a few places arround town where my 2-3/4" height of the front beam would hit road and that the last thing I need. Yes lower is better but if you cant drive it because it too low how much fun is that.
If I had the coin it would be cool to invest in air ride. Set the car on the ground when parked rise it to drive. Could be a future project but distance future.
