Just wanted to get this out there for everyone who may be in need of parts. I just dropped $650 in parts for the project this afternoon at Don's place. Don really knows his stuff and his prices are the same if not cheaper than online. Picked up some German rear drums and some Brazilian front drums, all new wheel bearings, an entire brake system with all TRW/Varga cylinders, all my cables. The list was huge and Don spent an hour with me picking out exactly what I needed. They do a ton of internet orders and if he doesn't have it in stock at the Perry location he goes to the Detroit store every couple days to run parts back and forth. They are definitely worth a look if you need something ASAP and can't wait for an online order. www.donssport.com/Just a heads up..their website sucks for older VW type restorations and is geared more towards rails and buggies. I usually just call and get a price or availability.

Don is very helpful, and just a nice guy. If anybody needs anything picked up let me know. My sweetie's house is about 3 miles away before GTG's and the like. Be happy to bring things along if they will fit in the Puma.

Al at the detroit store knows his stuff as well, they seem to be more bug oriented in detroit. The number of in-stock parts is decent but it seems lately they have been drained on commonn service stuff

I am thinking of running up to the Perry Store early Saturday morning 9-19-09. Anyone want to tag along. The web site says the open at 9:00am on Saturday.

If you are looking for something specific you might want to call him tomorrow and see what is in stock. If he knows you are coming in he will get some parts for you from Detroit.

Yes, both are in the same town. Don has been around for a long time. Has two stores, one in Detroit and one in Perry. He is more off road and aftermarket oriented I believe. Randy is more stock. Sells from his home. Call first to make sure he is going to be in. Would be worth going both places if you are in town. Don's also has a large gauge and shock online business.
