OK Its getting close so this needs to get planned in a hurry! Stan of 3B Performance and Bill Edwards put on the meet n greet last year and do not want to be as responsible this year and we need to make this happen. So to add to the complication we want to add a poker run. Stan has offered up some prizes but requires 12 car participation to have them. I figured we can throw in a couple Club shirts as well. So here is the list I was given from Stan its alot to take in at first but we can get it done.
Thanks for stepping up to the plate. I have posted a couple of things on the two sites that I'am following and I recommend that you start posting on the ECPRA site about the potluck and poker run.
I will help out w/prizes and a dish to pass, but not like last year. I'll be out of the country for 7-16 Aug. and will get back w/you. I'll prob. check the sites and my Email tomorrow before I leave.
Things that need to be address as as follows.
a. tables - I'am not planning on bringing them this year. 2-3 are needed for the food.
b. grills - Bill E. and Vinnie brought them last year, it would be better for us if someone local can provide one/two of them.
c. are you setting up the poker run? Playing cards?
d. I'll check w/wife to see if we have table clothes etc. left, prob. used at granddaughters openhouse.
e. SOMEONE really needs to be point of contact on the food, otherwise we ended up eating all baked
beans, if you get my drift. I may be able to get someone to help out w/the "cooking", can't promise
but I'll ask.
f. Did anyone check w/track (Stephanie) about the food thing.
g. trash cans/boxes w/bags are needed to clean up the mess.
h. prob. 6-7 PM would be a good time - that is not too early and should allow the WI, OH, WV, IL, etc. crowd time to get there and get set up for the night.
i. I recommend the same location as last year, far enought away from the V8 crowd to go unnoticed.
j. has Bren coord. w/track (Stephanie) about the wrist bands for Sat. night so that only pay entry one time. We are at the track for the VW show and not the V8 races, that would really make some of the people mad if they were charged twice. It worked out great last year - but I have not been in contact w/track to make it happen, please follow up.
k. If I seem pushy it is because 36+ years in the Army and being in charge of Brigade size units I got used to delegating, sorry.
Thanks for your efforts, Stan C.
So we need 5 Volunteers to hand out cards to have a 5 card hand. I will try to go around the Otsego/Plainwell area to find places to have everyone stop to get a card. In thinking about this we need to have it start just off of US131 and head through Plainwell/Otsego and have a route back to the track. I can try to do this but someone more familiar with the area would be helpful. Also for the potluck we need a couple people to be there cooking and ready to accept cards and find the best hand to give out prizes. As far as food we need to provide meats. We can get hamburgers and hot dogs from Gordon Foods in Holland and I may be able to come up with some tables. I asked Bren to coordinate with Stephanie. I think together we can make this a ton of fun and with practice it can only get better.
Volunteers:
1.Glen
2.Kenn
3.AJ
4.Bren
5.Dave
6.Josh
