If you do buy it you should head right to the cruise and show it to us!

Kevin, Steve and I are looking at adding an other bug to my barn, a 62' vert(stock) from Washington state, so the body and pan should still be rust free or close to it. I first saw it about 12 years ago and it ran and drove. It's owned by a cousin and isn't really for sale but his wife doesn't want it around for another move, and she wears the pants, if you know what I mean. And I'll play that to hilt if needed. It hasn't moved under it's own power in at least 10 years that I know of., Kenn

Well we tried to make it. I was going down m 37 near caledonia a the tread let go of the tire. Beat my rear fender up pretty good too, so we threw the spare on and headed back to grand rapids. Got back into town and stopped by costco and belle tire neither one of them had anything near a 165, so I limped home on my old spare. Hopefully we'll make the next show.

Im sorry to hear that Jerry,
The 165R15 is on a national backorder so getting them takes months. How bad is the damage?

Sorry I could not make it ether. What I thought was a simple procedure turned into a nightmare. All that I wanted to do was to install my E-Brake cables and adjust my rear brakes. I just could not remove the driver side nut that was holding on my drum. So I spent the day repacking the front wheel bearings and adjusting the ride height again.
Well at 6:00 PM my wife was awake and she held the brake pedal. I used a 4 foot length of pipe inserted into my breaker bar and I finally broke the nut. I am still going to by the magic tool I just don't know when.

The damage isn't that bad. It knocked some of the paint off the lower drivers side rear axle, it really that bad though. The only problem is, is that the color isn't a true vw color, its close but not true so I won't be able to match very easily. Oh well at least I made it home.

Sorry you were not able to make it. Hope things are OK with your cars! Show was cool. Ton's of cars. The tub club was there and we saw a few other VW's. Mostly convertibles. Good time! I love the cruise type shows. We went to dinner then came back for one last round at about 10pm. It was still going on. Thinning out but still crazy.
