The more the better. I will have all the supplies at the ready for this little project and I really appreciate the help.
Quick question Glen will you be driving your bus? My wife and I are interested about purchasing one someday but my height of 6'-7" makes fitting into any vehicle a problem.

Sorry about the bus I guess I am still the new guy. I hope you get it finished soon. Being still on the Bus subject we or I mostly am looking for a Westy Bus between the years of 1968 to 1971 so I can retain the type 1 engine. I would rather find a 1969 to match the Ghia. I do not want anyone looking for a Bus for me now because I am broke and my wife says that I need to finish the Ghia first. So I do not want any emails or posts saying they found a perfect 1969 Westy Bus for sale down the road for a small amount of coin. I really hate passing up on good deals because of stuff.

Well my friend has a 70 campmobile he says he doesn't want anymore but he doesn't put it up for sale or really tell anyone its for sale so I am not sure how serious he is though he does keep saying how he could get alot done with the money from selling it. He wants to get his Superbeetle project going and get his GTI a few things it needs.

I really do not need a Westy Bus now but thanks. No coin or place to store one. But if someone is willing to buy the Bus for me without any pay back of money from me and store it for a bit. I would gladly accept the gift.
My email address is ghiastein@yahoo.com please email me if you are coming over on Friday also if you have any questions like where do I live, address, and etc.
Glen I have been asking around what is waterless hand soap non pumas? I was planning on using what I have been on my other seals. Which is a spray bottle with water and lots of dawn dish soap. In my opinion it works great with inserting rubber grommets. Will my dawn mixture not work with windshield rubber?

It will work. I think the idea behind waterless is it might not properly dry or might cause rust under the rubber.

I only relayed the hand soap because that what the pro said , and this would be the rubber to glass , not rubber to metal area just something slippery is all that is needed . Here at Trelleborg we assemble rubber parts every day , we have 4 types of oils and also just Windex . Its something like - do what needs to be done to get to where you need to go . C-Ya Friday . Glen I have found that thread in thesamba.com and others related with the Ghia and I printed all of them out. Still no dice on the waterless hand cleaner. I just cant seem to find any thing that is truly waterless. Everything that I have found contains glycerin or glycerol and I believe that is manufactured from oil but not sure. Plus I was told that I should stay away from oil based products because of harm to the rubber gaskets. So if any one knows of waterless hand cleaner or has access to it bring some by. I am always interested in trying new products.
I have just finished reading chris's thread on his 68. Sounds like his motor is installed and running. He said that he still needs to do some test driving. What an excuse to go on a test drive, come here hang out and maybe install a windshield.
Keep me posted email me if you need to AJ

When I installed my windows I did it with windex but not alot. Seemed to work pretty good and they have been in the car for about 9 years now. I also recently but my GTI windows back in and did the same.

Well a special thanks to Glen and Aki Tsuji for stopping by and helping me with my windshield and rear window installation. It took just a hour plus a few minutes to install both windows. It is all thanks to the special sauce called Linseed Oil that Glen brought over. I recommend it for all windows on Volkswagen's.
If Aki Tsuji or Glen need any help with anything just let me know.
Once again thanks and a thanks also needs to go to Dustin Fisher for having this Forum.
Glen, you left you two packages of cord here how would you like me to return it to you.
