That looks like a solid start. Are those vw seats? What are your plans for it? Your starting to get quite a stable of vw's.

Get all the systems checked , I know the carb & fuel pump and valves , Tune up & oil stuff . Shocks and tires look new . This is my FIRST Bug time will tell .

I see a hoodride in the making. Slam it and dull down the paint a little more. Old style bumpers too, like George did.

Started working on the bug this week . Found cut wires , melted wires , 5 fuses with foil raped around them , a mouse nest in the air cleaner & a pile of SH!t in the top of carb . I put a rebuild kit in the carb , repaired some wires , put some gas in . When i got to turning the key lights came on but did not turn over . So I popped the hood and found more wires striped & twisted spliced type thing going back to the dash and found a PUSH BUTTON start , Motor turns over and tried to start . I think that I will be needing a used carb for parts . And I don't have a 74 motor the numbers are H5 813980 , I checked and came up with about June 1969 I think . So this car may not have been a good deal but it a dun deal .

I prefer the single port motors myself.

Put in a new master cylinder & rebuilt the peddles , then found a leak in the brake line inside down by the shifter so I replaced that also . I have been able to start but not keep running .

I got all 4 brakes bleed out yesterday morning before leaving to go North . Found a bad tie-rod end on the Right side . I picked up 2 heater boxes from Patrick , Thank You Pat . Today I'm going to try to put the carb together one more time and see if it will start and keep running .

I love the seats. The rest of it has potential.

1st I need to get it to go up & down the road . If I don't get some $$$ going soon I may have to sell it , or start sleeping in my Green Tin Can . Last night I started to do the tune up , started with draining the oil . Now I have pulled a lot of drain plugs in my past but never see a MOCA looking sh** like what came out from the 1st drop to the last drip . I'm pretty sure that I don't have a blown head gasket and anti-freezes . What I don't know is if the Good Old Boy that I got the Bug from added any long term storage type stuff to the oil if there is anything like that . When I pull the screen it had a slimy sludge swamp thing end trails . I'm going to and flush it before going for a test ride . The motor sounds good all but a tune up .

Probably a lot of condensation from too many short trips or no thermostat.
