Does anyone run the empi brand eurosport 2 tip exhaust? From what I can tell I believe it allows you to still use the heater boxes, which is important or my wife wouldn't ride in it when it gets cooler than 70 out. I'm running a mostly stock 1500 so I'm not really concerned about performance, although I wouldn't mind a little more. Just wanted it for the sound, stock pea shooters are getting boring and one has a bad baffle so it sounds a little funny.

IMO the EMPI sucks, I don't care for the sound of it. If you want a nice sounding exhaust get the euro 2 tip. www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C13%2D3418 you can get it from other places and in different brands. Mine is a tri-mill. It gives an intimidating sound that will get you stares from muscle cars.

The link you posted was the one I was thinking of and I know empi stuff is poor quality. I was just looking for a nice sound with a cheap price tag, but I realize there aren't many out there.

The one I posted a link for is the style that sounds awesome. You can try aircooled.net and mid america motorworks for the tri-mill version.

I too have the tri-mil version. I like it. It does have a nice sound yet is not too loud either. Got mine off ebay. I do remember reading on the Samba that MAMotorworks is carrying the tri-mil version now. Another option would be to use these in a stock exhaust: www.mamotorworks.com/acvw?frame=1.4908I used those on my first beetle. Really provided a nice sound. Cheaper than replacing the entire exhaust, easier too. -Bren

I just installed a Bugpack system that I bought from www.aircooled.net. John (the owner) is great with advice. I bought a ceramic coated header and a "hideaway" muffler. It looks and sounds great. I am running fenderless, so that hideaway muffler looks pretty cool tucked along the right side of the car.
