OK, it is pothole season. How do I know? I nailed one on the way to work today. It was in the right hand turn lane, so not noticeable until you were right on top/in it. I hit it so hard it cracked my wheel and damaged my tire. This was near a CVS pharmacy, so I pulled in to change my tire. About 8 other cars were in the lot and tires were getting changed left and right. I was on the outskirts of Detroit, so got a little extra excitement as I was changing my tire. I was approached by a prostitute looking to help me "reduce my stress." All I had was $1 in my pocket, so she was not interested. Hmm, maybe I misunderstood her --she offered to help me with a rimjob.

Its too bad about your car. Where in Detroit was it? There is another really bad one on Outer Dr between southfield and 75. On Southfield the left lane on both sides are bad as well.

Want to know my worst Pothole story?
I was on 15 in Indiana just crossing over the toll road when I hit a bottomless pothole with my 86 GTI. I heard a huge bang and it set me into a skid on dry pavement. After a few feet of travel I had to stop and change my right front wheel. The tire had a large 2" gash in the side wall and my aluminum rim tire sealing area was bent flat.
I was done but a local mechanic that was a regular at AutoZone said he could fix my rim and mount my spare tire on the rim. I did not believe him but the next day he showed up with my tire and rim all fixed. It was still holding air until I got rid of the car last year.

I was in the eastbound side of Grand River Avenue, approaching Telegraph. The pothole was in the right hand turn lane--at 6:50 in the morning, I could not see the hole until I hit it. I feel bad, as this happened to my company car and my employer is paying for the repair.

Sunday morning I hit a (helva) pothole on West Main at the top of hill, bent my rim and flattened the tire on the truck then the fun began. On impact my hood popped open and over the windshield, try see thru a hood in traffic I pulled into the station over the curb. Changed the dam-n tire, slammed the hood shut and motored home wobbleing all the way. Haven't messed with truck since, need to call the insurance company (hopefully they'll total it). Thats my story and I'm sticking to it. Later Kenn
