The back of the package is dated Jun 29 1977. A Google search for Scat part number 35-038 didn't find anything. If this is something you can use or you want to hang it on your wall, let me know.

Hard to tell from a pic, steel /rubber what? description would really help,measurements? I even looked in my old scat catalog? Patrick got it right 'Shop Wall Art"

Looks like fuel filter elements to me? ? That's what I was thinking, Rick. But both ends are open. I haven't seen any fuel filters with open ends, but I guess it would depend on the filter housing design. MadMike, these things aren't metal, but I can't tell what they're made of (I don't want to open the package. Here's some more pictures:

X3 on the fuel filter. Banjo style fuel inlet, has all the gas going thru it before entering the bowl.

X3 on the fuel filter. Banjo style fuel inlet, has all the gas going thru it before entering the bowl. I didn't think of that, Dave. My '87 VW Cabriolet had a banjo fitting on the fuel system. The fuel filter was upstream and was a replaceable canister (didn't have replaceable filter element).

I found this picture on thesamba.com. The filter housing is described as a 60's accessory and lists Scat, DDS, and Empi. The filter element looks like what is in the Scat package from 1977. Here's a current picture of Scat AC133000 fuel filter housing that looks like the one shown on thesamba.com. The replaceable filter element is more modern.
