You are a die hard driving the 66 with the cold and road salt. It reminds me of the guys still riding Harley's in freezing weather.

Welcome Joe. You are a die hard for sure. I can't imagine driving a bug in the winter. Beautiful '57. What are the plans for the bus?

Welcome Joe. You are a die hard for sure. I can't imagine driving a bug in the winter. Beautiful '57. What are the plans for the bus? The bus is totally rust free underneath, which is the best part! For now I just plan on tuning it up, cleaning it out, new window seals for all the side window pop-out and for the safari fronts. I need to fix the tranny linkage too. Just drive it around for a while. Lower it 3-1/2"s of course too! IRS conversion to get rid of the RGBs.

what part of az. did the split come from? jerry Found it sitting at a business called Speed Custom Interiors in Tucson. The guy didn't even have a sign on it but just stopped in and asked about it. He still has a '65 Split Double door, panel van in about the same shape for $3500

I thought it looked familiar, I lived in tucson for a few years. I probably seen it at a local show show or something. What part of town is Speed Custom Interiors in? Do you travel there often?

It's on Oracle Rd. I go there to visit my son Lil Joe, who also is the founder of Harsh Winters back in 2002!

Have you ever been out there for bugtoberfest? Its in october at chirco, on the east side of town off of broadway. I used to live right around the corner from chirco. Was the bus a driver when you got it, it sure looks familiar.

No, Wife and I have only been out there once so far. They just moved out there last July. We did go to Karl's Customs show in November though. That was up in Phoenix. I believe we are going to be spending a lot more time though as we are currently in the process of buying a house for retirement there right now. So the kids get to live in it as long as they pay the utility bills and home owners insurance, what a deal for them huh? That will give them the opportunity to save up money for their own house! Oh. BTW it was a driver too!

Welcome to the site. Nice 66; I also have a 66 but no heat (header exh with the heater box delete option) so it only gets started once in a while till spring. Plus you can almost here vw rust when used in the winter..... Had a 57 once (my first car) Had a 68 squareback as well (loved that car, got me in LOTS of trouble ) The bus is super cool but needs front emblem (loose the spare) to represent

Ha haha, believe it or not, that front is upholstered. Yeah, both bumpers are going, and since they are sooo friggin expensive, I'm going with the fiberglass ones! No tire in front of course!
