Found this posted on the mvvc site by Lynn Anderson: The new Jetta Clean Diesel TDI is in the running for Automotive News' North American Car of the Year, but in their online poll, it's in third place right now behind Hyundai Genesis and Ford Flex. Winners will be announced next week at NAIAS, so please vote TODAY at: www.autonews.com (right column)! Only one vote per computer allowed. Thanks! Lynn

Word must have gotten out because it was pulling a huge lead over the other two when I voted.

In case you did not know, the voting panel for North American Car/Truck of the Year is made up of 49 automotive journalists. That poll on Automotive News is more for fun than anything else.

I agree. The thing I don't understand is these are American journalists. The American car companies are in trouble. They vote for a Korean car. I would have loved to see the Jetta win but come on. Give Ford an edge here.

I found that Automotive Journalists have always been biased towards Asian cars. I could care less what they think anyway. But Bren is right given the situation of the American Car Companies they should have voted up the Ford.

I have one of the '09 Jetta Sportwagen deisels. I wouldn't trade it for anything else. We get 39 MPG in town and 41 MPG on the highway, but we were doing 80 mph the whole time. The DSG trans shifts without hesitation and for a deisel it burns rubber from a stand still!

I love those sportwagens! I would like a red one like yours but with some 19" Audi A8 wheels and a nice set of coils.

Do you have plans for other things? Since it's the wifes car, probably not much. She does want some 18's though. One of the guys at the CVO group reprogrammed some of the things in the computer. Like being able to roll up and down all windows and sunroof with the ingnition remote, and some other stuff.

Ah yes, I like that you can do the windows while walking up to the car. Gotta love convenience modules.

Ah yes, I like that you can do the windows while walking up to the car. Gotta love convenience modules. Actually most late models have that feature. It's just not programed that way because there's a small problem with windows that roll up remotely and childrens fingers/body parts! But in Germany they program it that way. They can be programed if you know someone with the equipment.
