Yes, I found some later early bay seats with headrests at Barnum's salvage yard. I redid them using foam and covers from Sewfine. It does seem that these seats with the foam instead of 'horsehair' are thicker, causing the loss of headroom in the bus. If I did it again I would probably go with a TMI or wolfsburg kit with the 'horsehair' style cushions. Otherwise I happy with them. there are more photos of the process here if you are interested: thegoodvolks.proboards.com/thread/2964/1969-bay-window-westfalia?page=9

Are the quad bug style tips the best idea for a bus? My understanding is the stock bus exhaust exits to the side to keep it from building up in the wake of the bus so the air flowing down the sides pulls it away from the bus. The aerodynamics of a bug are different so the exhaust can exit behind the car. For example the engine cooling vent locations on each vehicle are placed to take advantage of this.
Plus my sister used to have that Monza EMPI exhaust and it rusted to hell after about two years.

I have a version of that exhaust on my bus. I have no issues with it. Nice thing is it fit with my trailer hitch.

All I can say is I'll let you know. I have no problem disclosing my stupidity to help a fellow human being.... if it sucks,,,,,,,easy to replace. Not too worried about rust. She won't see the winters and the great lakes are unsalted And the hitch from Jeremy (Samba) fits beautifully. But thanks for the concern! Opinions are always welcome.
