I pulled all of the vinyl off and was going to try the masonite thing also, unless I can find a set locally for the right price.

Ran my 67 for 15 minutes.....Muttering how much I would rather warm it up cruising it around rather than have my dog stare at the car running in the garage and thinking. "What the heck is he doing now?" Looking for a Garage Companion... I'm thinkin a 58-66 rolling to pan project to start my slammed rusted relic look.

Replaced the window regulator on the drivers door of the beige car. Old one had completely stopped working. Not sure why but the windows have never gone up or down well on this car.

Good work Steve,

Welcome to the club Jerry, I think you will enjoy it. Did you get the ceramic coated one?

I wish I would have, but I found a really good deal on the black. Is yours ceramic coated?

No, I wish it was. I painted it with high temp paint. It did not hold up at all. It has surface rust already. I found a place that does ceramic coating but have not been willing to pay for it yet. Maybe next year. Definately like the exhaust though.

I have finally removed the blasted nut. I decided to split the case to see the bearings because I can't remember what I did last time I built the engine. The cylinders are good the rings are new the heads are good but the bearings are border line. So I know what I will be purchasing at George's next weekend if I have the money. I will feel better with new bearings any way. The good news is that If I don't finish the Ghia engine before the first VW show I can run the finished Bus engine in the Ghia.

I pulled and painted the engine tins this morning, with the help from Eric (grfatchick). That was my first time. Tins were a piece of cake getting off, but I had alot of time behind a wire wheel cleaning them up. When I was finished I looked like a porcupine, with all the little wires sticking out of my shirt. Took hide off the top of my thumb, but other than that it went pretty well.

Had the day off. Spent it in the garage. Got the rear heigth leveled. Bled the brakes. Got the reverse lights wired and working. Got the 3rd brake light wired and working. Put in the '67 tin pieces that I have so far and the '67 air cleaner. Very productive day.
