Is there any reason NOT to re-use a cam plug when assembling the engine?

Yup, the oil will fall out if you don't re-use the cam plug. ;D I've never had a problem, just make sure it is clean and use your favorite sealant.

Well.......my last engine story did not end well........ thegoodvolks.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=tech&thread=5333&page=2So I'm trying again. The original engine from my '73 Super Beetle has been sitting on a shelf for about 15 years. I know it's the original engine because I have the information from the Wolfsburg factory archives. I removed the engine when I determined it was too 'tired'. So far, I have had the engine align-bored [thanks to Greg Hudson]. I delivered the engine to Greg on the Tuesday before the Buggy Builders Trade show in Lansing, and Greg brought it to the trade show on Sunday for me to pick up. The case was align-bored .040 as was the thrust cut.
