I don't care for body lifts either. We are also not planning on making it a huge Baja just a nice street car since this will be replacing "Splash" as my parents driver so "Splash" can be reworked. The Thing front end will widen and raise the car I'm not sure if just the spindles will go onto a Bug beam. The rear spring plates need adjusted now on it due to sagging but we will probably end up replacing the torsions soon.

I picked those rims up today. There not spoked rims like I thought, there slotted almost like a stock rim. I'll have them with me on sunday either way.

Well I have not done much too this lately but order parts. Parts that cannot be touched until Christmas. Here is one box that came in. And it turns out I was right in a Thing front end widening and lifting the front of a Bug. It lifts them about 3" and widens 15mm per side. I did some reading on The Samba. It would be cool but this Baja is staying road and daily driver practical. This also means if Kenn wanted to lower his Thing all it takes is a Bug spindle swap.

My dad and I lifted the body up off the pan today and onto some saw horses. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

OK not much today but I got out there and put the pan on jackstands and started assessing the damage. The pan and the car are super solid but have been run through the ringer and some things on the pan look bent and some things are rigged. Lots of cleaning up to do. Tomorrow I want to get the beam off and stripped and maybe a few more things.
