Wow, lots of rust. But, sounds like the price could be right. Congratulations!

You should not be talking about rust I remember your 67. Well I was not able to scam it for free it is going to cost $250 but is has a engine with license plate tags that expire in 2009. So someone was driving it. I pick it up next weekend. I know what I will be doing for Thanksgiving. Playing with my new toy.

Can't beat that price. $250 motor and it comes with a free bus!
How are you getting it home?

Well I do have a truck and I think Steven has access to a trailer. If that does not work I think John H. will let me barrow the dolly I will just have to put up with the bouncing.

Thats a long drive with a dolly, but its definitely worth it for 250 bucks.

Could you put the dolly in the truck bed? It tows terrible empty! Might be better to just rent a dolly in MN one way if you can't get the trailer.

Congrats AJ! Are you thinking strictly parts or are you considering fixing it? I would hate to see it parted out since it drives. They make all the parts to fix it and I would be willing to help and I know others would too.

Here is the deal I think that it may just be a parts bus. I will need to consult the welder for further advice. If it turns out just to be a parts bus I may not tear into it right away I may just get it running again and drive it for a few next summer. I will see it in person this weekend.

Hahaha ok we will have our first rat rod in the club. You know what will happen, you will drive it and find it's so much fun you will begin to fix a little her and there and it will eventually turn into a full blown resto!!!

The Welder will let you know after you get it home. All it will cost is money to fix it. Look at Bren's car it turned out good.

I did the dolly thing to Farmington Mn. to pick up my Laser,I lowered the air pressure on the Dolly tires to about 15lbs, 8-)Empty,just check to see if there running hot, shouldn't be a problem this time of year, and don't forget to air'em back up and check the tranny oil (on the Wasty)before you leave ;D,Madmike

After I get the Bus home I will be going over it with a fine tooth comb deciding what body parts need to be replaced and what does not. Then I will check current sheet metal prices and add up the total. I will take that number and go shopping again to see if I can find a better bus body than mine cheaper than the cost to fix mine. I know that it sounds harsh but I have no attachment to the bus at least not yet. While saving again I may just make my current bus road worthy and have fun. So what if its rusty it can still be cool.
I need to get a bumper sticker for the bus saying my other car is a resto/custom Ghia
I like the idea about letting the air out of the dolly tires to cushion the bounce. Its one of those simple solutions that just fly by me because I usually over complicate things.
