Yep, Another eleven pointer, much heavier body weight then my bow kill, rack wasn't quite as wide but much higher. Taken at 7:45 AM. Could have shot anumber of does but I had enough of the field dressing for one day. My buddy Jim took a very nice nine pointer and a doe by 9AM. Didn't rain nearly as hard as they thought and the deer were really moving all day long. I saw a total of 23, 7 being bucks and a $hit load of turkeys. Jim saw 20 some and 8 of them bucks. Later Kenn

Thats what we(my buddy Jim and I) manage our properties for BIG bucks. Since 1979 we set a rule the horns have to be higher and wider then the ears. We average taking four nice bucks a year and hunt every minute we can from the start of the rut(last Oct. bow thru muzzel-loading) He always manages to take the biggest one though except this year so far. I'm not even close to being interested in showing someone else how to/where to hunt I have too much fun doing it myself. Another properties rule is take as many or more does then the total of bucks killed to keep the ratio in synec. Doe season for me started this afternoon when I took my first of the year Jim took his second this morning. We feed the families and donate what we cannot use(without the back straps and tenderlion of course) We butcher our own and package what we cut up. I would be glad to show someone how to cut up and cook vension. Some great eating if you what and how to do it. I like canned meat, chops, round steaks, summer sauage, brats and jerky. Later Kenn

Well good for you guys. I saw one doe. Thats it. Other 2 guys in my group saw 1 doe each. Probably all saw the same one.
Was a crappy opener for us. Now I'm back at work.
Thats what happens when you don't own your own property. Can't complaine too much. Have taken 9 bucks in the last 12 years which is way more than many guys I know.
I've never done the doe permit thing.

I also learned this year that carrying a handgun all day on my hip isn't worth it. Surprisingly heavy and uncomfortable. Was fun for the first couple of hours but got real sick of it by the end of the day.
