I was thinking that same thing Ron, I'm sure she will have them park maybe in the spectator area until its their time to head over to the pits. The nice thing about Pinks following the event is the track is making money on the day instead of having just a small VW show. Hopefully it wont be small this time around though.

I doubt if things will be small, and I couldn't imagine how she would be able to have PINKS people park with their rigs in one area and then move them....Steph is pretty on top of things so I'm sure she has it all planned out, it's obviously bigger than my little mind can comprehend. Another question I have is entrance fees, wonder if PINKS will be additional...plus racing....could be a high dollar day. It will be worth it though. I plan on staying for the PINKS action. I think Mark Wild was going to get in touch with her. I'm looking forward to it all...hope our winter isn't a precursor to the summers weather.....yeeesh.

I believe it said on the flyer Bug Run participants could stay and watch Pinks for free.

Ron: I did not even think about those logistics. I just thought it would be a cool draw for the day. Hopefully they do have it all worked out. I agree that Stephanie is on top of things and will have this all sorted out. I will be seeing her Monday and will bring up these concerns.
Yes, Dustin, you are right. $12 admission and you can stay for the qualifying for free.

This is just a idea. I was playing around with Google Earth and I was looking at the track. What if we have the show car and swap meet in the grass. About where we met on the Friday before the fall show. This would open up the paved area for the Pinks qualifying. The only problem that I see is that people now have to walk.

I am really happy to see that we can watch the Pinks qualifying, however it seems like the cluster is gonna be tough. I think Steph will have it taken care of. When we dealt with her last year, she seemed to have all of her crap together.

Yea, I don't know AJ. It is going to be hard to keep it all seperate. I am curious to hear what ideas they have. I will keep you all updated as to what I find out. Keep the ideas coming and I will relay them to Stephanie. She has always been recptive to our ideas and feedback.

I talked with Stephanie today. I shared the thoughts / concerns about Pinks being on the same day as our event. Here is what I learned:
Gates open at 2pm for the Pinks event on 05/30. They will sell the tickets prior to 2pm for Pinks and let people in but they will be asked to keep their vehicles/rigs in the main parking area until 2pm. (Jason, track manager, agreed to this.) This will allow the Bug Run to go on as normal without being crowded out by Pinks activity. At 2pm, when the Bug Run is over, the Pinks participants will be allowed to move over to the pits.
The Pinks activity on 05/30 is a competition for 40 spots available for the main event. The racers will be competing for one of those 40 spots.
The Bug Runs typically are over at 3pm. The 05/30 Bug Run is scheduled to start 1 hour earlier than normal and end at 2pm.
Bottom line: The Pink's event will not be bad for the Bug Run's. If anything it will help the Bug Run's attendance. We need to promote the Bug Run's and the bonus of being able to stay after the Bug Run to watch more racing! Tell all your friends to come out for two events for the price of one!

Car show judging update: This time around the people who enter a car will be the judges! Should help eliminate complaints of unfair judging. (though we will probably never completely please everyone)
I received a question from Ron at MVWG about new beetles, are they welcome. Answer is yes we will have a watercooled category. Hopefully more of the MIVE crowd will join us this time.

Yours would probably be a "special Interest" category if there is one.

What do you all think about trying to coordinate a get together Friday night? Maybe meeting up at a fast food joint (Dairy Queen) near Plainwell or Otsego and hanging out. Something that could work well for us locals and also the out of towners that come in Friday and spend the night. I don't know those town's real well so someone else will need to help us find a location. Do we want to do this? Who is willing to coordinate?

I would really like to see this happen. I am not completely familiar with Ostego/Plainwell myself. I go there often but never really pay attention to what would work well for a VW GTG.
