:)I just put new insurance papers in all of our 3 cars. Van, Suv and our bug. On the Van and suv it says "actual car value" if something happened to them but on the bug it says actual car value not to exceed 3,300 dollars. On the Nada site it said our bug can run from 2200 on the low end way up to over 8,000 which of course we know its no where near that...I wish. Does all insurances's just get on Nada and go with that price? Just wondering. Thanks.

I have State Farm and I believe that is what they do on our normal vehicles. The bug just has PL & PD so the value is not a consideration. A friend of mine has classic insurance and he has a stated value of his choice, but the car must be professionally appraised if over some certain amount. The premium is based on the value stated. Seems like a good way to go for a car that is just used for club events etc.

I have Hagerty collector car insurance on the beige one. I stated the value. I pay once a year for that policy. No limits on driving other than I can't drive it to work daily. It is a reasonably priced policy. $3300 sounds a little low for your car John. I think you would have a hard time replacing it for that amount. John Hanson is the insurance man. Maybe he will chime in.

I have Hagerty also,But they did not want to insure the bus.The bus is insured as an RV,they consider the value of the bus at 4 grand but thats fine with me.I like Hagerty because you only need to send a photo with a declared value that they agree on,No paying for appraisals and it's even cheaper if you have historic or YOM plates.

John, Ruffuss is covered by JC. Taylor. Valued at $10,000 this year for $86.00/$210.00 per yr. I'm increaseing coverage to $12,000 for next yr. at $128.00/ $285 per yr. The first price is for Antique, Historial or correct yr plates, the second for regular or speciality plates. Thats no deductible and road coverage from April 1st to the end of Nov. and storage the rest of the yr. I can with a rider drive it anytime of the yr. with just a phone call (1-800). The rest of my cars are covered by fleet/farm insurance for $265.00 per yr. for comp., fire and theft, no collision, not road worthy. That also covers the tractors, cycle, and other farm equip. stored in the barn. Also by JC Taylor. I pay more for full coverage on my piece of crap truck that for all of my toys combined. If you want to contact them I'll bring the info Sat. when we work on your car. Later Kenn

I use Hagerty for the Ghia. Stated value is 10K and I have a 3K driving limit which is pretty easy to stay under even with all the summer driving. I could get cheaper insurance but would need to make it a historical car and limit it to driving to shows only. The savings was only about 25$ so I went for the daily driver with a 3K limit.
If your paying insurance based on NADA your probably getting screwed.
