Feb.GTG- Valve Grind-apalooza!!!!

Feb 11,2012. My Garage. All Day. Bring your set of ACVW heads, and I will teach you how to grind valves.

1. Must be 8mm valve stems. I know the FI heads are 9mm, and I do not know about the36/40hp motors.
2. We will reface the valves, grind the seats,and hand lap. I won't be doing any guide work,fluff&buff, or three angle valve jobs.
3. Please degrease as best you can before you get here. ( the heads, not you personally)

My address is 51712 M43, Bangor,Mi, about 9 miles west of the m40-m43 intersection. I am planning on being available from 8am to say 6pm, so that no one gets turned away. Dinner in South Haven afterwards has been mentioned,that can be optional. BYOM-bring yer own munchies and drinks. Ray, and anyone else with experience with the machines and process, you are more than welcome to help me run this.

I plan to be there with a set of stock heads to do. Picking up some new exhaust valves. Always good to replace those when you are in there.
Paul, I assume you have a valve spring compressor; is that a good assumption?

Bren, I have a spring compressor, and everything else we need. To anyone bringing heads, please degrease them. You will also need to bring something to put the valves in (block of styrofoam, wood block with drilled holes,egg carton) that will keep them in order, and a container for springs,etc. I want to invite everyone to be there, even if you don't have valves to grind. I will make sure everyone gets to run the equipment. You are more than welcome to come observe, and provide helpful ( or not so helpful) comments.

Looking forward to this. Found three heads (2 SP, 1 DP), got em cleaned up. One of the SP has cracks, but I'll bring it along.

I'm planning on making it. So far, I won't have to work that weekend. I'll bring a couple of heads. Looking forward to learning something and seeing fellow VW enthusiasts.
