No, nothing like that. The name comes from my company. I make one off race parts for people on the side. I specialize in polycarbonate plastics “lexan” and the like.

I once owned a New Beetle 1999 to be exact. I loved it for the first year after that it was just a ordinary car. I had issues with the cup holders, oxygen sensors, and the gas flap. The coolest thing on that car was the high mount side mirrors because of my height. I see that the newer ones fixed all of the problem areas even the mirrors. I once got it up to 100 on the freeway that was a very scary experience. My stock bubble was not designed for speed. I think yours would handle a lot better with the spoiler on the rear. How does it handle at speeds of 100 plus?
Do the New Beetle owners still wave to each other like they did back in the day.
Wow I just realized that come next year it was 10 years ago when I bought my New Beetle.

Welcome! I think John and I met you at Gilmore. Were you also at the first Bug Run at Martin? If I recall correctly you were also working on a unique stereo set up....

Hello and welcome to the club, Im a newby myself and everyone has been great! I also have a newish beetle a 98 with 168,000 miles on it. Mostly the wife drives it but it was originally Bought for me. I still love to drive it and it has held up well. Needless to say I've been into the mechanicals more than once to keep her alive(the car that is) . I also have a 66 bug and they do look good next to each other if I say so myself. Anyway welcome to the club!! Dan

I remember each one of you so, Hi. I produce such things like chin spoilers, corner splitters, side plates, window replacements, and the like. I typically use military spec. Lexan. This stuff will take a hot 22 long full metal jacket and not put a hole through it at 1/8” thick. The car handles awesome at speeds over a 100. It took a little bit to get it there though. In a shake down run a buddy and I went from Benton Harbor to Battle Creek in an hour flat at 3am. My buddy fell asleep on the way

So I am an idiot. When I typed Benton Harbor, I meant Ann Arbor. That is what I get for having a conservation with my wife while I play on the net.

When we were done I checked my tires at the gas station. They were picking up stones like hot drag slicks. After that they sounded like my swampers on my pickup till they got hot again. I bought the same tire’s again, they really take the abuse.
