November 12th, 2011 at George's Hot Vw's 146 N 28th st. Battle Creek, MI 49015 Southeast Corner of 28th and Goguac
2pm to ?
Food: We are going to take up a collection and go buy $5 pizza's like we did for the engine build. We will have plates, cups, napkins, silverware, and ice. It is suggested you bring a couple two liters, or chips to go with the pizza, or something for dessert.
You don't have to be interested in the distributor rebuild or engine tune up to join us. Really, this is as much about getting together and talking VW's and visiting with friends as it is about the rebuild and tune up.

We are tentatively planning to do a 010/019 cast iron distributor rebuild demonstration. Then we plan to put the rebuilt dist. in an engine. Then we plan to do a basic stock motor tune up. Valve adjustment, timing, etc.
And by rebuild we mean, tear down, clean, reassemble.

The distributor rebuild sounds great. Unfortunately; Debbie & I have a wedding on the same day and I won't be able to make it. Take some pics so I know what I missed.
Thanks, Ray

Bren: I have an 010 here...will there be parts available as well? Dave Parts for the 010? Or parts from George's shop? I don't have 010 parts available. George is willing to sell parts from the shop if that is what you are after.

For 010/019 parts I prefer to go to Glen Ring. As far as I know he was the first guy doing 010/019's.

I am planning on attending.
If any tools or parts are needed let me know.
I do have a 019 somewhere (I think its on the floor under a pallet) should I bring it?

Bring it AJ. Maybe we can rebuild multiple distributors. I have the special Bosch grease. One tube seems to be a lifetime supply for these rebuilds.
Note: first post has been updated with more details.

Well if the pizzas are little caesar's and the group wants anything other than hot and ready it will be $6. So light or extra sauce will now cost a dollar more. I think it is time for people to find another chain.

I sure would like to be there, but my hands still won't grip a steering wheel. Bilateral Carpal tunnel surgery is still limiting me. The only thing I can do is VERY limited use of the computer. See everyone later, Bob I'll be there unless the SNOW gets to deep by tomorrow!!!!
