At the club meeting last fall we talked about how to get people to stay at the show longer. Many car show people leave when they realize they are not one of the top 10 cars as judged by their piers. We would like them to stay for the car show award ceremony and the final races. One idea raised was to do a 50/50 raffle. 50% to winner and 50% to our charity (leukemia and lymphoma society) We do have approval from US131 to do this activity. Now, we need someone to take on this activity. Who is willing to do this? This will be the first time we do this so it will need to be developed from the ground up. Any takers? from the meeting notes:
· How to get people to stay longer and be involved in watching the awarding of the trophies
o 50/50 raffle – do drawing at the end of the show
§ Could we make the 50% go to our charity?

I will gladly donate to the 50/50!
from an organizing standpoint - this time my time is very limited leading up to this event - have to spend the entire week before the event in Indy. This is going to be challenging enough to get the Bug out of hibernation this month as it is.

Does anyone still have the roll of tickets I donated for the South Haven show last year? I know Glen was walking them around, I just don't know what happened to them afterwords.

Participation! is what helps keep us together, enjoying what we enjoy. It is hard to be the ones who always, do! how hard can it be to organize, co-ordinate and walk tickets around to help the club?? Do your part!!! |

I can handle this 50/50 for this event. My theripist said this will help me come out of my shell and help with my shyness ;D. I think I can talk to some people. Thanks Dave T

Do you plan to sell them all on your own? Or, do you plan to recruit help?
Maybe we can also sell them at the club tent?
We will also need to write up a short blurb for the announcer to help us get the word out we are doing this. Winner announced after the car show awards; to help keep people there etc.

Hey Bren, I will try to get my kids ( Boys) to help sell. I guess a note about the 50/50 and the foundation we donate to would be a place to start for us and the announcer. Thanks Dave T
