Yeow. The beam was bent by the deer pushing the (fender first) tire back, hence the ripping of the wheel from your hand. Did you total a pair of pants also? Guess you should consider yourself lucky he went low.

Glad no one was hurt! I hit a 275 lb. deer at 70 with a six month old 2000 Mazda Protoge. Large cornfield in East Lansing by the highway, no hunting=really BIG deer. The DNR weighed it after I hit it for the police.
Funny thing was, the front hood was crushed, and came all of the way back to the windshield, leaving only about 14 inches of glass to see through to pull the car over.
There were pieces flapping around, water and transmission fluid spraying everywhere, things crashing and grinding, and the engine immediately stopped when the radiator wrapped itself around the front of the engine. First thing that went through my mind was "WOW! This is like every Nascar crash I see on T.V..."

haha I just kind of sighed and told my friend I just hit a deer and would need it towed home as it was...pulling somewhat to the left hahaha.
