Last one tmw night. Who's going???
Hope the weather's nice - not too many convertible days left, I'm afriad, but Wednesday is supposed to be the nicest day this week... so maybe.
On the other hand, it's been a long time since Yellow's been out.

Just me an Dave, and the orange beetle. George was there too but he brought his Charger. Thanx Dave, for calling and checking on me. That's what friends are for.
Mostly the usual cars/guys. But there was a 911 I hadn't seen before and a 928 I hadn't seen before.
Couldn't sling a dead cat without hitting a 'vette. Best 'vette vanity plate I saw was Illinois "GOES-176"

Art was certainly right about all of the 'vettes at Gilmore. Couldn't swing a dead cat around without hitting a "vette. They all seem to be driven by old guys or younger guys. They probably will go 200 mph, but none of them sound powerful at all. Kind of like a loud tuner Honda... There was a new Beetle that was very strange...NACA ducts in the front windows, very uncomfortable aluminum racing seat, wing, but it sure did not look like it had any engine work other than some paint...couldn't figure it out. The new headlights were a mixed bag...bright, white light, and lots of it. Unfortunately, it's all 25 feet in front of the car. Fortunately, the brights worked fine as dipped beams, so I got home, and no one ever flashed their lights at me. The headlights are REALLY out of adjustment. Another thing on the to-do list. Dave

Here are a couple of photos from the last Gilmore cruise in of the year... Nice car...where's the flux converter? This Vette even looks fast... This is the one I want! This just looks too cool, and easy to work on to boot! Lovely car! Wouldn't you like to go for ice cream in this? Toyota Scout...first Japanese pickup designed for North America, but only 4000 made in three years. Wonder why? Early '77 911 Turbo. Very VERY nice Shelby. Don't see many Opel GT's any more. Very strange Bug... Fixed side window, NACA duct, REALLY uncomfortable seat! Notice the all-aluminum steering wheel. Rear wing with cables. Cables? Is this what happens when a Honda tuner buys a VW? Never thought I would see one of these in the flesh...Chevy Biscayne factory 427 four speed with a bench seat...this is the very definition of "sleeper" are "rare!" Dave

Have met the new beetle guy before. If I recall correctly he was doing something to compete for a land speed record of some sort.
