hey guys, i just picked up this 1967 beetle, going to fix the trans cause it keeps popping out of 4th then daily drive it because have enough projects crappy picture

thanks for the welcome guys here some more pics of her. shes a little rusty.. check out the wanted sections im in need of some rear fenders and original wheels, anyone know of any?

1300?? That's a '66, isn't it? Either that or it's not a USA import. Have you checked the VIN? Still, it looks pretty d**n solid, despite the little bit of surface rust. Nice 2-tone too.

ok this is where i got a little confused also, i checked the vin and it says it was made in like sept 1966 but the vin is a 117 meaning a 67, the engine is a 1500 i looked up that too. Im guessing whoever had this before me put the wrong lid on it from a 66 im guessing? Because it does hit the bumper when opening too.

Yeah, you've probably got a replacement rear hood on there from a '66 - NBD.
I'm not a beetle guy so I'm not the one to ask, but I don't think there's much difference in the rear lids to cause a clearance problem. Is the bumper slightly out of alignment perhaps?

thats probably the case, the bumpers and fenders are off now anywhays im stripping it to bare metal and repainting it
