I know this one is super early but this is one of my favorite events of the year and we like to get as many people to come as possible. My family and I have been going to this show for 9 years straight and love it more every year. Please consider going to this event next year. We leave on Friday morning and usually get there around 3pm. We don't rush to get there and stop to have a picnic before we get there. We have always stayed at the Super 8 motel in Effingham since it is a perfect location. Walking distance to Wal-Mart and many restaurants. It is also very easy to get to the show from Super 8 without using any main roads and only 1 stop light. www.mamotorworks.com/acvw-1-116.htmlMake your reservations at Super 8 Motel 1400 Thelma Keller Dr. Effingham, IL 62401 (217) 342-6888 Thanks to Bren for calling and getting us this group rate discount! "OK, here is the deal. If you call in and tell them you are with THE Good Volks you will get the rate of $45.95 plus tax. Once The Good Volks has 10 rooms reserved we will all get the group rate of $40.95. Right now we have a total of 6 rooms reserved, 3 for the Fishers, 1 for the Wilburs, 1 for the Dunns and one for the Hartmans. All of the 6 rooms above have been revised to the $45.95 rate! So, 4 more, come on, join us! Can't beat this rate! Can't beat this show. It is great fun!"

Definately a great show. I really enjoyed the drive too! Even with the various troubles we had. Heck, I even found a new car on the trip!

I am going to register our club for the club parking again tonight. I hope we have more cars for next year since we were the smallest club last year.
Edit: Also added motel info.

Well its 360 miles from where I live so around 300 miles from Kalamazoo and I think we got there somewhere around 3-4pm last year after leaving Benton Harbor at 10:30am or so. We take our time driving down and stop a few times along the way as well as take some 2 lane roads to escape the busy highways. Trust me Jerry you want to go!

300 one way? That would be the furthest I've ever gone. Sounds like alot of fun though my wife would dig it. Maybe we could schedule a tech session somewhere the weekend before just to dial in the cars?

And a second tech session along the way ;D: It is a great show. The trip there and back is most of the fun in my opinion.

Jerry don't worry I once drove the Ghia from Indiana to Cleveland Ohio and back in one day. All by myself and without tools, stupid. During this trip we will be driving in a group and watching out for each other.
Dustin are we staying 2 nights or 1? Just wondering how many nights to reserve.

2 nights. Drive down Friday and home on Sunday. Last year the best rate came from calling the hotel direct for reservations.

You can camp at the show grounds. At least they offered that last year.
