Does anyone out there have the know how and the tools for rebuilding a set of spindles with new links and kings? I have a set of Airkewld drop spindles, new Kings and Links and the stock carriers. I also need to ream out the tie rod hole to flip and use the later tie rods. I can drive to anyone who could help me out and Beer could be provided

Sorry I don't have any experience with links and kings but I am eager to help and learn. If it was a ball joint front end that would be a different story. Bren reamed out his spindles to flip the tie rods but it was on ball joint spindles.

I tried to ream them out but could not do it on my own. I needed much better drill bits than what I had. I had to enlist the help of a pro.
I don't know anything about link and king. I have only had ball joint cars.

This is for your 70 Ghia? Shouldn't that be a ball joint front end? Or is this for another car?
Also this is the kind of stuff we need when we finally plan one of those GoodVolks fix it day's

Holy crap sorry I thought this was another one. I read your screen name wrong. I am sure it wouldn't be a huge job but it will require a press.

Just wanted to let everyone know I was out in Perry today visiting my only local VW shop.... www.bugsandbuggies.com/They said they can Ream both of them out for $20...sure beats $150 for the correct reamer! Also they will completely assemble, ream and file a new spindle/Link/King setup for $60. Pretty cheap if you ask me. I think I will just have them Ream out the bushings unless I can't press out the old ones.

krmnnghia: Don's Sport Buggy is actually not your only shop in Perry. Randy Townsend is also in Perry, MI. He was the only new parts vendor at the Bug Run. He was the guy with the big trailer right next to the concession stand. Randy sells from his home when not at shows and will ship also. Towns End Auto 4557 W. Bath Rd. Perry, MI 517-625-6744. I like to support Randy as he supports the Bug Run! -Bren

I need to add some of these local guys who support us and dont have sites to our site. Maybe I can make a banner or something and add to a new page on the site.

That would be a great idea Dustin. We need to support people like Randy, George and Greg Hudson. Small VW business's that definately are good to us.
