I agree with Bren and Dave the 20th would work better for me. Other dates could also work with a little juggling. If we were to do a summer date they use to offer preferred parking for car clubs. It is a neat place regardless. just my 2 pennies

lol the 1 day that works for you guys is the worst day for me. Claire has a bridal shower at 11am... and I have to be around so Home Depot can come install and deliver my new washer/dryer. :-O

So can we lock down a date? 20th is fine but I need to then swap out a weekend of work for the 13th. If so I need to get on it.

Yes lets lock it on the 20th,
Now who wants to call and set us up? They have group discounts listed on their site but what time do we want to go? Do we want to eat there or somewhere else afterwards?

Hey Dustin, Greg S. from the MVVC Been following this post and sounds like a great time, The Henry Ford Museum is a Fantastic place, I live approx. 3 miles from there and enjoy their events all year long. If your looking for a place to eat, there's a Great German restaurant near by, Richter's Chalet, 23920 Michigan ave. 313.565.0484 info@richterschalet - Fair Priced. Also at the Museum there is the Michigan Cafe where they have some real old time home style cooking. Pretty Good ! - Fair Priced. Every year at "Fathers Day" weekend is the Motor Muster at Greenfield Village, All Classic Vehicles up to 1976, it's a pre-registered event and there is some nice Volkswagen that enter every year, if you have ever attended or participated in this event your sure to know why it's one to be at every year. I'm interested to meet up with your group when your in town ! I'll be talking with you.

I'll keep up with this tread and watch for the progress, I'm sure some of the MVVC Members would be interested as well. Just to let you know Richter's Chalet is my all time favorite German Restaurant. You won't be disappointed if you chose to gather there. Oh Yea, I sure you have met me, I've been to the US131 Show / Swap as a vendor and I own a Type 3 Squareback- beige and Fastback- green. It would be great to get our Clubs together and talk about the German Gilmore Museum gathering you have planned in July. theSamba member : typ3nut Checkout my photos. Greg S.

Looks like 15 or more get a 10% discount
General Admission 15.00
Henry Ford Museum discounted rate
adult $13.50
62+ $12.50
5-12 $10.00
under 5 Free
Im sure we will have at least 15 people going. Ill set this up.
Im thinking this would be a 10am - 6pm at the museum then on to the resturant. Im sure 8 hours will be sufficent unless we feel otherwise. It is a big place and Im sure most do not want to be rushed. Im sure 12-6 would work as well. Ill miss the dinner as my daughter is putting on a dinner show in town so I gotta go to that.
Ill call today to set up at least 15 - 20 tix.

Greg S., I'm Kenn Dunn aka "Ruffuss" I'd be the one in charge of setting this gathering up, my thought is to have an all German Show/ Gathering to include both air-cooled and water pumpers, cars, trucks, cycles, farm equipment and any thing else made/or designed/ sold in Germany that is German. Any contacts, ideas or help would be appreciated. I agree our clubs need to sit down and talk, plan and agree on the running of this Gathering. My/our plan so far is to keep it simple, growing after knowing how it will be taken and excepted. Maybe at the Febuary GTG. Thanks Kenn and all the GoodVolks.

Good work Dan, I would say the 12-6 would be better for me anyway since It's a bit of a drive.
Greg,
I have met you, I remember the green fasty. You had some pretty nice items in your swap at the Vintage Show.

Hey Ruffus, I had notice that the German Gathering at Gilmore has been posted on the MVVC Events calendar, sounds like it will be a great time. The MVVC has been kicking around the idea of a similar gathering to happen in Frankenmuth, MI. The lady that owns Bavarian Inn ( a Zender of course ) has a birthday celebration for her Beetle every year that she has owned since new, as I said maybe something in the works, Sept. ? Not to get of track but I have sent the info about your Feb. GTG @ HFM to the powers that be @ MVVC I'm sure I'll hear from them and see if their interested in attending. Were supposed to have a board meeting so this might be a great opportunity. I'm in charge of heading up the Swap Meet at the 2010 Vintage Fest in Ypsi. so I'm waiting to hear back from them on a meeting date. I'll keep up on this tread and your schedule progress of the HFM. Oh yea, Dustin, I always have some kind of Vintage VW whatevers For Sale or Show & Tell, its a sickness, Volkswagens? typ3nut
