Finally got around to dropping off the engine tins to get painted so final engine assembly can be completed, although it has been brought to out atention that SCAT has recalled their lifters and we gotta split the case and replace. Glad we realized that now instead of failure later. I also dropped off the seat frames because after being customized to sit 1.5" lower they bind up so they need tweaking.

Picked up tranny today....Here's the specs - FTC 3.55/1.93 1st & 2nd gear set FTC 1.22 3rd w/ welded hub Factory German large tooth .89 splined 4th. w/ welded hub IRS Super Diff 10 tooth spyder gears Diehl brass syncros Late operating sleeve Late clutch hub Weddle rebushed late interm. housing Early 3-4 clutch hub Hardened mainshaft key Early 3-4 operating sleeve Early 3-4 steel shift fork all steel cage bearings Cryogenic treated ring & pinion, 4 spyders, 2 side gears Mikronite Surface Enhancement ring & pinion, 4 spyders, 2 side gears New main pinion bearing - late w/ thrust Late reverse gear  now to get the engine finished!!! |

It's coming along! What R+P ratio? 4.12 or 3.88?

It's coming along! What R+P ratio? 4.12 or 3.88? uh, I can honestly say I'm not sure....and wouldn't know the difference if I did know  .....yeah, I have limited engine mechanical knowledge....which is why I had engine and trans built...My request was Engine / Transmission / Turbo / VERY FAST ;D Picked up engine tins from paint shop. Same mile deep metallic finish as the body...now to just get the engine final assembled  |

It's my understanding that the "double ring" side covers are nearly as good as a HD aluminum. No?
Eric, a 4.12 r+p is giong to mean about 8% more RPMs @ a given speed compared to the 3.88, but, you'll get out of the hole quicker with the 4.12

I hope you didn't get a Painted up stock trans with new nuts 
Just slap it together so it looks like it runs,over 1/3rd of the cars ther don't run ;D
