Just wanted to give you all a short update on the event that Harsh Winters is planning.
An area in the Tippecanoe River State Park in Winamac has been reserved for the Friday night June 4th and Saturday June 5th. This is a group camp area that is usually set aside for things such as retreats, scouting jamborees and the like. (it has also been used for several ABATE events) There are some 28 rustic cabins (no power) a central area with shower house and a mess hall with full kitchen and seating for 160.
This is a very secluded area of the park, so just about anything goes! Bon fires, beer, etc. Nothing but the reservation has been set as of yet, but looks as though each cabin would cost somewhere around $30 for the weekend per family (they sleep 6) also, each section has a main lodge that sleeps 12 with electric which will go for about $60 for the weekend.
The plans and a firm agenda for the weekend will be nailed down this weekend at the monthly meeting, and information will be forthcoming. The cabins will be able to be reserved thru the Harsh Winters PayPal account then final plans are made.
If there are any questions or comments, I will try to answer them, or add more information here next week to tell you all where to access the HW forums "planning" thread!
Regards, Doug Willis

Just a short explanation of the reason for the Winamac, IN. location!
Winamac, Indiana is almost equally distanced between CCVW club (IN.), City of Firsts club (IN.), HarshWinters club (IL.), The Good Volks club (MI.) and the Old Fort club (IN.)
This location was chosen so that no one group or individual had to drive an entire day helping to reduce the chances for an "on the road" breakdown!
