I know a good number (majority?) of the members here are on the western side of Michigan, but I was curious if any of you would travel a *little* east for a show? On every Sunday, Baker's restaurant (Milford, MI) hosts a car show in their parking lot. This is a nice event, and attracts at least 100 cars of all makes and vintage--perfect for us VWers. I am *this close* to finishing my '70 Beetle, and plan to take it to Baker's on 8/24. It would be great to see some other VWs at the show too. Bill Info on Baker's: www.bakersofmilford.com/

Since we have our GTG planned we cant make it. But we do travel all over for shows. We arent like the MVVC who stick to their own side of the state. We do like to drive our cars all over.

Be nice Dustin Yes, we do like to drive! In fact, I like the driving part as much as the shows. Saturday, it felt like we got to the show too fast! -Bren

Sorry I thought that may come off a little harsh when I was typing it but I guess I am just a little defensive about they way we are with attending events. I wish the MVVC would do more and I am not against them.

Bren, Was the reason we got there so fast is that you were following Ruffuss or that I was following Hanson, Later Kenn

Or that I was following Ruffuss who was following Hanson! If I was in the lead it would have taken 30 minutes longer at least!

Thanks for the notes back...I'll be sure to send a "reminder" for another Sunday show at Baker's. I think it would be great to have a VW contingent at the event.

Post up any shows that you can think of. Some of us might come by and I know there are shows out there that are not on our list.

Bill,
I hope to make it to Bakers on the 24th, so you won't be the only VW there if you go. Just need to finish up putting in the new alternator tonight. I have a red 76' Std.

That's great, Dave! I have an orange/gray '70 (fenderless). You won't be able to miss it--it glows!

I know--I've been bad at updating. Of course, I've been bad at actually working on the car 9summer got in the way!). Stay tuned, for this weekend will be the unveiling.
