Madmike:
The bike is very unusual for a pre-war BSA. Hand shifter, 250cc, but it has electric lights, and has overhead valves! Very unusual for a Brit bike. They really didn't trust overhead valves until after the war. It is also a wet-sump bike. My biggest need is the valve cover. This bike most likely has some competition history, based on a racing-only carb, and some other bits. One of the things that was always taken off was the valve cover, since it was heavy and high.
It does not, however, have the racing frame.
I guess that one day I'll have to design one, bump up the size whatever it needs to go to, have a mold made out of SLA and have a few sand cast.

When the corticosteroid shots don't seem to work any longer, ask your doctor about SUPARTS injections. It is a synthetic snovial fluid, (the fluid that is the natural lubricant in the joint). It might just buy you a little more time before the knife.
BTW.... SUPARTS injections hurt like hell, but just for a second, then instant relief, and if I recall, they are a series of shots lasting five weeks.....
Hope it helps,
Glad this is working for you now!
Doug

Don't you wish that there was "shimmy stop" for joints?
For those of you who are too young to remember, "shimmy stop" was a mixture you injected into the grease zerk fitting on ball joints to "fix" worn out ball joints. It hardened after a time, and voila...fixed!
Something like that would be very cool!
