The Good Volks VW Club has organized a gathering for German vehicles of all types at the famous Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI. , as part of the Gilmore's Car Club Day. They've invited the MVVC to take part in the event so that VWs, especially vintage VWs, are well-represented. Of, course, what would an all-German car gathering be without a proportionate showing of Germany's largest selling brand, the cars that made Germany a major force in the American market as well as the world?

The MVVC would like to support this event to ensure vintage VWs of all sorts are on display. Besides the variety of German vehicles expected to turn out for the show, as well as various cool cars from other car clubs, the Gilmore Museum offers their own very impressive collection of 200 cars and trucks from the 1890s to the 1970s, plus automobilia and other related displays. There's also an Architecture Miniatures Museum and a diner offering snacks and lunch. The Museum is arranged in a beautiful park-like setting on 90 landscaped acres in restored barns that makes for an enjoyable visit. Check out the Gilmore at www.GilmoreCarMuseum.org (phone [phone]).

It was talked about at South Haven do we do a hot dog roast, pot luck? anyone? I'll bring the small grill and fix'ins. Steven is bringing 60 hotdogs,enough? AJ is bringing buns and mac salad. Robin is always bringing something tasty. Bring your own drink, chair and table service. I'll have my pop-up and probaly Stevens. Anything else? Bring what you want. It was also asked of Gilmores for a swap spot and OK'd either amoungst the cars or in a close spot away from the show and shine.
Input? Ideas? Concerns? We had a great time and turn-out last week lets do it again this week. There is also the Diner at Gilmores if you want that. The double decker will be running also.

I mentioned the mac salad before everyone asked who is bring the buns. Buns will be alot more easier for me because of the whole cooking thing. So if someone else would like to bring mac salad you are more than welcome.

Unfortunately I have to sit this one out guys When I went to work on Monday my co-worker asked if he could have Saturday off since his girlfriend has Saturday off for the first time in about a year and he got access to a camper so they can go camping. I hesitantly said yes he could and was bummed out but I think it was the right thing to do. I'll miss you guys.

Hi everyone...
My brake problems are fixed, and hope to be at Gilmore's. Couple of questions...is this a judged car show with classifications, do we have awards if it is? Who are the judges...are there door prizes, 50/50 pot? Don't mean to be out of the loop, but just curious.

This is a gathering only. No judging or anything. Idea is to keep it simple and see what kind of a draw we get. Hopefully this idea will be a hit and we can grow this to be one of Gilmore's larger events.
