And Steven.
MVVG is cancelling their show this year. That leaves Oct. 10 open for the color tour.

Ok Ok Ok I have been up to my elbows in Bus work. Time to take a break. Since I have been nominated for this little adventure I will take full control of the Annual GoodVolks Color Tour. This will me my event for you.
I will plan the route and hand out maps and try my best to keep everyone together by avoiding major towns and busy roads.
Now I have some questions for everyone. Are we meeting up with the Michiana VW Grouppe? This kind of dictates a location. If not how about starting some where central to give a chance for every GoodVolk to attend.
Last year we started at Family Dollar / Village Market Grocery in Store Decatur. This was a nice place to meet the Michiana VW Grouppe with a large parking lot. Are we still planning on meeting here?
During our trip we took a break at Cass County Park. This was a nice place to take a break but the problem was that the restrooms were locked. I liked the idea of a resting point to stretch the legs. What are your suggestions?
After the trip we stopped and had a late lunch at Zeke's Restaurant in Dowagiac. Do we still want to finish at a Restaurant or do we want a picnic some where?
We need to get the ball rolling so everyones input will be very helpful.
Thanks AJ

I know of a coffee shop we can meet at too in Decatur, it is run by a coworkers parents. But not a lot of parking so we would have to park at the bank and walk to the coffee shop.
We can wind our way north more too, Paw Paw, Lawton, Mattawan, Oshtemo, or may be even wind our way over to the Lakeshore?

How long are we Dragging? The 17th could work as a point of interest being Martin. Tour to and Tour from? What do you think? Could picnic at the track a dish to pass type of affair and finish at the lakeshore? After having fun racing, which would make it an all day event? Just a thought Kenn

But, what if some one has a problem when racing and can't go on the tour?

Then we go to plan B. Some finish the tour and others take care of the problem. Kenn

I thought about that too, but after thinking on it a bit, I don't think it would work very well. The tour was nearly an all day event last year. Cutting it short makes no sense. Our "Thank You" to US 131 probably should mean we would buy food from them if we were eating there and I doubt if all the tour people will want to run at the strip and vice-versa. It would make for a hefty cover charge for those that don't run.
Trees are starting to turn already. What about taking off somewhere east of Kazoo and ending somewhere around Battle Creek? Maybe late this month? Maybe the 26th?

Rudy the 25th is Octoberfest in Kokomo then on the 26th they have a huge all makes show down there. I would not want to interfere with that. I vote for the 10th as well even though Lisa has to work its about the only day that works.
So far we plan on meeting with the MVWG so it needs to be a central location for everyone. I like the idea of a stop then end at a restaurant of some kind which will have to be decided beforehand and a reservation made then updated when we have a count.

This event was started by the Michiana club. Two years ago they did one by themselves. Last year they invited us to join them and made it convenient for both clubs to participate. At the end of the 2008 color tour Ron Wenger suggested we trade off years for coordination. So, 2009 is ours to coordinate for both clubs. We need to make this convenient for both clubs. I personally liked the format of meeting in a large convenient place, stop once at a park for a potty break and time to mingle with everyone and end at a restaurant.
