I checked into getting insurance for my sand rail. My agent found only Foremost and they would only provide liability coverage. Said the rail is too old, orginally titled in 1989. Anyone have any recommendations as to who would cover this car? I don't like the idea of plpd type coverage.

I know Carlos has progressive and had it before the Buggy was titled to a 2008. I am not sure if he ever asked about full coverage but for plpd it was $50 a month.

Wow, $50 per month! Foremost quoted me $121 for 12 months.

Yeah I think it was just because of his age and driving record but other places like state farm and farm bureau wanted $300 for 2 months!

Old what do you know about old. Yours should be free, you drive like an old lady LOL!!! I've always had State Farm for the buggys. Allstate, Progessive and AAA also cover them. If it's too old check with JC Taylor or Hagrety. Kenn

I don't think Haggerty insures rails or buggies, unless you can prove it is something like a real Manx or other historically significant buggy.
I know that they have stopped insuring Cobra, GT-40 and other high-performance replicars. Apparently they crash far too often.

That's a big no no Josh especially if you plan on going to the dunes. I have heard of Buggies being impounded for wrong vins and titles.

That was then, I was warned by a buggy guy they know what to look for these days and Beetle titles no longer fly.
