So last night I was watching Beetles destroy a whole variety of big V8's on the quarter mile on youtube last nite. This morning I heard a story on NPR about an electric Ford Pinto blowing away big gas guzzling monsters in the quarter mile. The final part of the segment said this: Although their cars were hampered by battery problems, they did have the satisfaction of watching a Tesla Roadster (equipped with more reliable lithium-ion batteries) smoke a turbocharged VW Beetle.www.allcarselectric.com/blog/1034629_npr-rides-in-an-electric-ford-pinto-dragsterToo funny. We're now the standard car to beat!

It may be fast but it just doesn't have that sound of a real gas/diesel engine. That is funny about beating a Turbo Bug. But that Bug must not have a very large motor/turbo to not break 12's

It had to be a 1.8T New Beetle not a Hi Performance air cooled.

My new favorite pastime: Watching a 1303 show it's rear end to a Ferrari over and over and over again. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6l-rQ-oVNqo , There's also a video of the same Beetle almost keeping up with a Formula 1.
