I know I'm a few years late to the party, but I'm in a pickle. I have a beetle based kit car, and replaced the rusted out front beam with an adjustable one from appletree.com. This one has ratcheting adjusters, when came adjusted too low so the tires rub very bad in the fended wells. I decided I needed to set the car back to stock height in the front. I found the last few posts and used a jack to raise the actual adjuster bolt, but it reaches a point where the whole car starts to lift up, rather than just the bolt in the adjuster. I still have another two notches I need to move the adjuster up till I hit stock height. Anyone have any suggestions? Even after raising the car a good inch, the tires are still rubbing, so I need all the height I can get.
