downtown South Haven car show 6/6

I know mostof you will be going to the MAM VW Fest, but will ANYONE be going to the downtown South Haven car show next Saturday? I think its from 10-3. I'm about 95% sure I'm gonna go.

I'll be there Al , Along with Don J. and his 1961 Bug .

Due to the date change and the move back downtown I will be doing the Home town thing . South Haven used to be a 500-700 car show then they moved the show out to the Flywheelers . (Someone pregnant doged that they could not get to thier parking spot )The first year we had about 230 cars , the 2nd year 34 cars due to a MONSTER STORM early that morning . It has been said that it takes 2-3 years to rebuild a car show after moving . So I will be doing my part to help , I try to support the home town or home State teams as much as I can .

COOL! I just dropped the car off @ Coffman's in GR for the new headliner and am expecting it back on Friday. If it all comes together I'll let you know and perhaps you can save me a spot. Would be cool if we all park together I think.

That's cool Glen but you have no idea what your going to miss! This is the best and biggest VW Show in the Midwest. about 1500 VW's and 3 days of fun!

I will be there this weekend. What is the best time to arrive ?.

Couldn't make the MAM show so a local show will be a blast.

I'm going early . I don't know if they plain to fill the big parking lot right in the center of town like in the past . I'm going to try and find out Friday night , If so I am going to try and save 3 spots . The 3 of us and Don's "61" . They say 8:00am on the Web Page . I will be there before that , I will still ask if I can save spots .

I AM getting my VW back tomorrow.
How much is registration at arrival? Should we bring our onw chow for lunch or ? I know Clementine's and other good restaurants are downtown.
OK, this is cool. Should be fun. Anyone want to caravan from GR SLOWLY; 55-62 mph?

OK, I think I'll be by myself. Planning on leaving no later than 0700 from my house in Allendale. Probably get there a little after 8, closer to 0830 I'd imagine.

So far so good. The car is washed and ready to go.

The morning started out in town 7:15 am . I found Linda the nice lady that runs the show and asked if I could save some spots , she said yes . I was able to set us up dead center of downtown . Al came in next to me then Don Johnson set up next in his 61 Bug . I was able to save the spots till 9:00 am Ron pulled in @ 9:15 and had to park down a block away . Steve Miles was @ the the show also with his Westfalia & Ghia . Total 6 VWs . With Don J. bringing his 61 only to have a For Sale sign on it walked away with a 2nd place prize . 38 Jag took 1st . I hope Al can post pictures I was unable to take any . Good job Don .
