This event sounds like alot of fun, I wanted to go last year but had to do something else. It would be awesome to do the Friday night cruise in.
September 26, 2008 - September 28, 2008 - Oktoberfest Volkswagen Cruise-In
Kokomo, Indiana
Kokomo’s Oktoberfest Volkswagen Cruise-In
The Kokomo Downtown Association of Kokomo, Indiana is once again pleased to extend an invitation to ALL Volkswagen owners to be a part of its annual Oktoberfest to be held around the square downtown Kokomo Friday night September 26, 2008. The streets downtown will be closed for this event between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. to allow Volkswagen enthusiasts to take ownership of the downtown area. Due to the overwhelming success of this event; KDA has approved additional “Cruise-In” parking closer to the stage and main event! So, let’s not disappoint them – LET’S FILL THE STREETS!
This will be the 4th annual Roger S. Wright Memorial VW Cruise-In for Kokomo’s Oktoberfest. This is a fun atmosphere for Volkswagen enthusiasts to come together and share their passion for the world’s greatest automotive success – The Volkswagen. All models of Volkswagens are welcomed! We will have goody bags for every participant and unbelievable door prizes! So, mark your calendars now! Come and enjoy live German music, great German food and much - much more. Last but not least, put on your danc’n shoes and get ready to Polka like you have never Polka’d before!
SPECIAL ATTRACTION - On Saturday, September 27th, 2008, at 12:00 noon, we will “circle our wagens” and meet downtown at the Sycamore Market Place to recap Friday night’s event, and give away more door prizes and have lunch. Then, “head’m up and move’m out” for a 30 - mile cruise, to the “Duck Tail Run;” one of the most incredible car shows in the Midwest. This event last year was an absolute blast! As always, the special event at the “Duck Tail Run” will be the ~ Flame Throwing Contest! If you have never witnessed this event, it is one that would make a pyromaniac drool! You will quickly see why it is known as one of the “Coolest” car shows in the Midwest.
We are very fortunate to have our events coincide and expect this to be another great time for all participants. This will be a week-end packed with Volkswagens, Hot Rods and Customs. If you plan on spending a night(s) in Kokomo for the Oktoberfest, Fairmount’s James Dean Festival or Gas City’s Duck Tail Run, you will need to make your reservations early. For hotel and festival information please visit the following websites: www.kokomo-in.org/lodging.htm - or -

This has proven to be one of the most incredible experiences we have ever had an opportunity to participate in. So, prepare to enjoy German culture on Friday night and a cruise Saturday to an event where Volkswagens, Hot Rods and Custom Cars out number normal day transportation.
On Sunday September 28, 2008, @ 9:00am we will meet for breakfast to close out a fantastic weekend and say our goodbye’s as everyone heads for home.
