Are there any restrictions on Year of Manufacture plates? Do I need 2 plates for 1967? (I only have on of them)

You only have to have one. However, if the person that has the matched one already registered it yours will not be able to be registered. Might want to call to see if it is before you spend the money.

I almost bought a pair of 1970 plates from the guy at MVVC, but 1970 is a UGLY mustard yellow color..I will stick with my BLUE plate for now. I just seen a couple of street rods with yom plates (1929 &1940) and the plates were painted red to match the cars,I didn't think you could alter a plate like that,The lettering was white. Sorry to change the subject a little but I thought this was interesting.

You cannot "restore" the plate prior to registering but after all is said and done, feel free to do a real nice restore job on the plate. I would not change it from the OG colors though.
Some places charge about $100/plate to have them professionally restored but with a lot of patience you can do it all yourself.
