What do you all think about car show grab bags? I am thinking about the Bug Run's in particular. Should we be doing them? Are they necessary? Do you expect to get one when you take your car to a show?
I don't think anything is in the works for the Spring Bug Run. Do we need to scramble and try to put something together? Does anyone have any contacts with businesses that might contribute to a grab bag?
Let me know your thoughts.

Well, I haven't ever honestly entered a car into a show of any sorts, and I wouldnt expect to get a grab bag. However I do see how it could add a few more people to come and show their rides off. Isn't it free to enter your car to begin with?

There nice to have. But I dont think at this late date it will add any entrants. Maybe for next year? Just placs should suffice for this year. Is it free to get in?? It was not last year..... I think last year cost me like 12.00. I like grab bags at shows though.

Here is my thought if its just a simple car show that's free or helping out a charity. I don't expect a grab bag because it takes time and money to prepare them.
Also if their is some other attractions along with the car show (ex drag racing or other) and they charge an admission charge. I still don't expect a grab bag because the attractions cost money.
It is always kind of nice to get some kind a grab bag especially when they charge an admissions charge for just a simple car show.
I would not worry about a grab bag because they are usually filled with sponsors flyer's and goodies trying to attract customers. Our small club has no sponsors and no money backing it so why worry.

I think grab bags are cool but not needed but given the type of show this is there should be dash plaques.

I agree with AJ, Dustin and others, Grab bags for a show that charges, is expected. With free entery I don't think it's really needed, especially with the racing and swap, being a draw. Later Kenn

Personally, I think those grab bags are overrated. I come home after the shows and dispose of 3/4 of the contents. Forthis MVVC show, I kept the key chain and the plaque. I like the plaques from each show--those are fun to collect. I can do without the maps, brochures, etc.

I agree Bill. The last two shows the grab bags were mostly advertising that I did not need. Putting them together is a lot of work and we will probably not bother with them then for the Bug Run's. They are going to do the dash plaques for the first 75 cars again this year. I like to collect those also. Have not done anything with them though. I appreciate everyones feedback.
